1. Why Translator Scandinavia?

I’ve carefully followed technological and commercial developments in the market in recent years, and right now there is a clear opening for technology-driven language service providers serving small to medium-sized businesses, both in terms of translation and other services related to language data.

Translator Scandinavia was an obvious choice for several reasons. The company has a strong brand, a long and proud history and an interesting customer base. Translator Scandinavia provides an optimal platform for developing a technology-driven offering. I’ve also known Cecilia and Carolina in management for many years, and we complement each other with our strengths. The conditions for success are the very best.

2. Hasn’t the translation issue been resolved with the arrival of AI and large language models?

No, it hasn’t been resolved. The machines are not yet reliable to the extent that checks are not required. The translation issue is changing shape, but it hasn’t been resolved. The content is increasingly located in the depths of more and more systems. It’s becoming less a question of translation and more a question of processes and technology.

3. What is your background?

I started out as a trained translator, translating from German, Danish, Norwegian and English to Swedish. After that I gained broad and extensive experience in the language services industry, and for the past seven years I’ve worked in various management roles. These have been partly in operations and partly providing organisational and technological consultancy services focusing on process optimisation, technology use and automation.

4. What are you best at?

I thrive in the borderland between the strategic and the operational – my focus is always on customer value, and when I can work with a customer to eliminate pain points in their processes, that’s when I feel at my best.

5. What are your goals for Translator Scandinavia?

My goals for Translator Scandinavia are to help develop operational excellence – building on the company’s long history of being at the forefront of technology relative to its size and areas of specialisation. By going the extra mile and becoming truly digital-first, we can develop our offering to existing customers and also reach new customer groups.
